2009 SUMMER GAMES WISH KID
Aidan Good is a four year old, who will be five in September. In January 2007, he was diagnosed with Pediatric Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. This is an extremely rare and deadly heart condition. Aidan's heart is in a condition were the upper chambers are hardening and just does not slow down. So when Aidan gets extremely high, it is just that pure adrenalin and it does not slow down until he just cannot go anymore physically or mentally.
It was discovered on MLK day in 2007, after he had a 20 minute grand mal seizure. What was first thought to be an epileptic seizure caused by walking pneumonia, turned out to be both epilepsy and the heart condition.
If I had not watched his echocardiogram, I would not believe he has this condition, and I get the stare from people when I tell them. He is extremely active, while pale due to lack of skin exposure to sun, he does not look nor act like he has a condition that is terminal if not treated. He will run you into your bed at night exhausted through his own activity level.
Aidan's favorite thing in the whole world is to ride his little gator tractor at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He rides the tractor until it stops due to the battery being out of juice. He is either carrying his sister Amarah or Grandpa's tools to help grandpa due his work.
Aidan also has recently taken a knack to singing. He is getting to the point where he is memorizing more than just a few words but entire songs. His two most recent performances include a song off a Barney tape called Beautiful day, and my all time favorite Take Me Out to the Ballgame. However, there is nothing more touching to hear him sing along with the Praise songs Blessed Be Thy Name, and also I Can Only Imagine. To hear him sing those songs, would make the most stringent non believer tear up.
Aidan is the youngest child of three. His two older sisters are Alena age 10, and Amarah who will be 6 in August.
